The lab had a strong showing at the Society for Personality and Social Psychology Annual Convention in San Diego, February 8-10, with two posters from our survey of stress and well-being in North Dakota college students. Congratulations to Garrett Byron, Odalis Garcia, Emily Hackerson, Alexander Knopps, and Emily Johnson!
Garrett’s poster found that among nearly 300 students, those who identified with more minority identities reported more minority stress, perceived stress, anxiety, and depressive symptoms. Odalis’s poster found that perceived stress was linked to poorer sleep quality and lower academic perseverance among students of color, LGBTQ+ students, and their peers.
