Garrett Byron presented new work from our virtual reality stress paradigm at the Midwestern Psychological Association Annual Conference in Chicago. In this study, participants completed the Trier Social Stress Test in front of a pre-recorded 360-degree virtual audience that acted either supportively or non-supportively. A supportive virtual audience led to less negative affect and less self-reported stress, but greater diastolic blood pressure reactivity. Great work, Garrett!
