Our lab continues it’s efforts to reach out to students outside NDSU to let future undergraduates and future graduate students know about what our lab and the NDSU Psychology Department have to offer.
On March 31, members of our lab, Dr. Kat Duggan’s lab, Katherine Wissman’s Lab, and Jeff Johnson’s Lab participated in the NDSU Avenues of Scientific Discovery, a one-day conference for middle and high school students focused on cultivating an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Garrett Byron, Odalis Garcia, Alex Knopps, Emily Johnson, and undergraduate assistants Katelyn Hanson and Clair Glade hosted a department booth, where we shared some fun psychological games, visual illusions, stress and sleep aids, and more. In addition, Garrett and Odalis once again presented a workshop on stress and health. Thank you all for representing the department and labs!
April 20-22, graduate students Sam Birkholz, Garrett Byron, and Alex Knopps, from the Johnson, Hilmert, and Wissman labs, respectively, hosted a NDSU Department of Psychology Graduate Program exhibitors table and the Ninety-Fifth Annual Meeting Midwestern Psychological Association in Chicago. This outreach received a lot of attention (they ran out of supplies!) and we hope makes more future graduate students aware of our graduate program here at NDSU.
