Healthy American Indian Pregnancy Survey

The Healthy American Indian Pregnancy Study is conducted in cooperation with the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians. This study examines the American Indian pregnancy experience as it relates to stress and intergenerational trauma. This is the first study to ask how trauma may affect pregnancy across generations and will help us better understand how to help American Indian women have healthy pregnancies.

Surveys are currently being provided to participants at the Quentin N. Burdick Memorial Health Care Facility in Belcourt. To be eligible to participate you must be at least 18 years old and either are pregnant now or have been pregnant in the last 18 months.

Travel is not required. Participants will be entered in a lottery to win one of the following prizes, a first-place prize of a $100 gift card, or one of twelve $50 gift cards, or one of twenty-four $25 gift cards.
